About Us / Commitment

We're committed to our community, our customers & our people.

At Day & Ross, we don’t just move freight. We care about being good citizens in the communities where we operate, drive, and live.

Nothing is more important to us than our community, our customers, and our people. Whether we’re on the road or in the office, we’ve invested in tools and training to help keep our drivers, our employees, and your freight safe. We use the latest in-cab technologies like two-way cameras, satellite speed control, and collision mitigation systems.

Safety
Day & Ross uses a driving simulator for testing, onboarding, and training drivers in a safe and controlled environment. The simulator gives our drivers experience in a variety of road, traffic, and weather conditions, and trains them to avoid head-on collisions, pedestrians, heavy vehicle traffic, and even animals on the roadway. It’s a key step in our safety journey towards zero accidents. And it’s just one of the ways we’re building the most professional driving team in the industry.
Security

Safety also means being secure. At Day & Ross, we take care of your freight, and we’re compliant with national security legislation. Our certifications include:

Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT)

Free and Secure Trade (FAST)

Partners in Protection (PIP)

Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)

Advanced Commercial Information (ACI) eManifest

Customs Self Assessment (CSA)

Pacific Industrial Contractor Screening (PICS)

Sustainability

Taking care of the environment is a job we take seriously. We rely on diesel and gasoline to deliver freight to our customers, so we’re always looking for better ways to reduce our emissions:

  • We invest in technology that optimizes our fuel efficiency, like aerodynamic trailers, low rolling resistance tires, and TIREMAAX® PROinflation systems.

  • We maximize efficiencies by route planning, loading trailers to optimum levels, and using LCVs to reduce our emissions per tonne of freight.

  • We’ve been a SmartWay approved carrier since 2009.

  • We’re investing in new terminals with many of the latest safety and environmental upgrades: solar panels; geo-thermal heating and cooling for the office; pre-cast wall panels in the dock; LED lighting; electric forklifts and charging stations for employee vehicles, yard trucks, and one day, local delivery trucks too.
